The click clicking of knitting needles quickly became the click clicking of money being counted for these knitters during a two hour sponsored knit for Christian Aid.
Last week several avid knitters from the Sleaford area gathered at St Denys’ Church Room in town to raise money for Christian Aid week.
As well as raising more than £400 for Christian Aid, the knitters made numerous of squares which will be used to create blankets to be sent to Romania.
Thanks for your support ladies, this will be greatly appreciated.
Swing down to Waterloo for the hottest dance in London. Sizzling live sounds will make you Lindy Hop, Jitterbug, Boogie Woogie, or however you like to move. Need to learn some steps? No problem. We’ll have a brilliant dance demo to show you how to swing the night away. And, the best dressed dancers get a free drink! Join us to dance, dance, dance upon injustice!

Five piece band, Sam Chaplin and the Jazzbomb, will be rocking the joint. Fresh out of college, they are among the best jazz musicians of their generation. These talents are already playing at the world’s top venues and with jazz greats such as Wynton Marsalis and Stan Tracey, and popular artists like Eric Clapton, Michael Buble and Katie Melua.
This is a swing dance with a difference because the Big Heat Swing Dance is also about global warming. We’ll have a special 'intermission discussion' about climate change issues that all of us, and especially the world's poor, are facing today. We'll take a few minutes to think about how we can engage positively with the issues and make our voices heard so we can help those in developing countries already suffering the effects of global warming.

There will be fairtrade juice cocktails to refresh you and the best dressed dancers get a free drink!
